Jerry Allan Collins

Jerry Collins was born on December 14th, 1962 to Mary (Grapel) Collins and John Collins in Miami, Florida. He passed away on January 11th, 2020 in the middle of an afternoon nap where he resided in Douglas Georgia.

He was the youngest male of seven children, Jonnie, Ronnie, Ray, Gary, Sherri, and Kerri. He also is survived by his nieces and nephews with great nieces and nephews that grew even closer to him the last years of his life.

When Jerry was younger he worked with people who had special needs and always held them dear to his heart, being the caring and compassionate man he was. He spent his young adulthood racing cars in demolition derbies, which he really enjoyed. In 2004, he fell in love with a woman he would never forget and loved her children as if they were his own. After seven years they decided to part, but still maintained a strong friendship. He thanked her for the best years of his life and told her he would wait for her at Heaven's gates to spend eternity together.

He excelled in employment as an electrician, worked for Home Depot, and began a career with the Cape Coral Water District that later came to an end due to disablities caused from motor incidents. He had a passion for cooking, fishing, boating, photography, listening to a variety of music, riding motorcycles, and traveling. Jerry was also a jack of all trades and loved fixing things. He had the ability to befriend absolutely anyone, and never ceased to make someone laugh with his remarkable sense of humor. There was never a dull moment around him. He was loved by so many, and has left a positive impact on everyone his path crossed.
